Game, Set, Match!

Big news in the tennis circuit: starting today, for the first time, the Rogers Cup has scheduled men’s and women’s tournaments so that they’ll play simultaneously. Roger Federer disapproves of it. Television advertising executives love it. Fans will be able to watch live matches on big screens set up at both venues.  Usually, the tournament is in Toronto and Montreal, with the men’s competition in one city and the women’s competition in the other.  The tournaments are played over a two week period, and they alternate cities year after year. Not only is Sandman Hotel Group a fan of tennis, we’re fans of all sports in general. Whether it’s hockey, Indy car racing, marathons, swim teams – you name it, we’ve likely supported it in some way, shape, or form. From sports teams to sports fans, we have been able to host and accommodate ball tournaments to bonspiels, even the Olympics and Commonwealth Games. We offer fabulous ‘Team Rates’ at most properties, and even do a free room night for the coach! Contact the property you have in mind, and they can fill you in on the details. Back to the Rogers Cup though: the good news for all you fans? We have Sandman Hotels in both locations!

If you’re thinking about catching the action live, but don’t want to deal with the crowds, you should check out where we’re located! In Montreal, you can catch the Metro outside of the Sandman Hotel Montreal-Longueuil, and it will take you right to all the action at the Uniprix Stadium.  Or, if you prefer to drive, it’s less than 30 minutes away! At fabulous rates and great amenities like complimentary parking, an indoor pool, and fitness facilities, it’s the best choice in hotels for the Cup!

In Toronto, stay at the Sandman Signature Hotel Toronto Airport! It’s the ideal location for those of you coming in from out to town – we’re just five minutes from the Lester B. Pearson International Airport, and twenty minutes from all the action at the Rexall Centre. It’s luxurious, modern, and upscale – the perfect place to unwind after a long day in the stands. Given the proximity to the airport, who knows… maybe you might even run into an up-and-coming tennis star!
