Perhaps the best way to stand-out from the crowd of upper middle-tiered through to 4 diamond hotels, is to create an experience guests will never forget. From a hotelier’s perspective, an efficient way of offering luxury and elegance is to provide quality amenities that reflect the values and intended experience, leaving guests feeling as though they’ve been treated to something special.
With that in mind, Sandman Hotel Group started to look at all of the amenities in the rooms. Specifically, the bathrooms. What we realized, is that we needed a change! After months of sourcing various companies, we are very excited to announce that we have entered the trial stages of testing a brand-new toiletry line. So far, we’ve selected Pharmacopia Natural and Organic Bodycare, to test in two of our flagship properties. Currently, you can only purchase Pharmacopia products in Ontario and British Columbia, at only three locations no less! The body care line is completely organic and natural, founded 13 years ago in the owner’s back garden. Since then, it has evolved into 12 different product lines, all of which are extremely effective, and are full of anti-oxidants. Another feel-good feature? Their entire collection is free of synthetic fragrances, colours, petro-chemicals, sodium lauryl sulfates, parabens, phthalates, propylene glycol, and likely a host of other chemicals that are hard to spell, and impossible to pronounce. That, and absolutely all product packaging is completely biodegradable – a major consideration given the volume that we’ll be using.
According to their website, Oprah’s approved it, Alicia-vegan-and-animal-rights-activist-Silverstone has been a long-time fan, and celebrity mommies like Tori Spelling and Heidi Klum used it throughout their pregnancies, comforted by the fact that the products are clean and safe for the skin. So, is it good enough for our guests? Well, we’re nearing the end of our trial period. Guests who have been staying at our hotels at Calgary City Centre and Vancouver City Centre have received the full complement of amenities, including body lotion, body wash, conditioning shampoo, and milled soap. Guests have been providing us with their feedback, as we speak.
Some of the highlights we’ve been hearing are that it smells great and lathers well, and the folks appreciate the organic ingredients and packaging that go into every piece. Do you have a great body care product that you think we should consider in our quest to find a new amenities line? Write a comment on our blog, or find us on Facebook/follow us on Twitter.. We’re still deciding, which means we’re open to suggestions!
